Rules of Entry - Individuals
Individuals can submit nominations in one of two categories, these being the following:
- Young ICT Professional; and
- Achiever.
In the Young ICT Professional category, the individual must meet the following criteria:
- Be under 30 years of age as at the date of the awards ceremony (Gala Dinner and presentation); and
- Be a permanent resident of the NT.
In the Achiever category the individual must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 30 years of age or greater as at the date of the awards ceremony (Gala Dinner and presentation); and
- Be a permanent resident of the NT.
Rules of Entry - Organisations
Organisations (government and private sector) can submit nominations in one or more of three categories, these being the following:
- Exporter; and
- Enabling Technology; and
- ICT Projects.
Organisations are defined as being one of the following:
- NT Government or Australian Government;
- Local Government and Shires from within the NT;
- ICT Industry companies; or
- Non-ICT companies in any industry sector.
Australian Government nominations must ensure that the content of the nomination is Northern Territory based. Australian Government nominations where the content (work) is primarily based outside (e.g. Canberra) of the Northern Territory may be set aside during the judging process.
The NTICTA Committee assumes authorised Government officers have approved any nominations received.
For non-Government entities (companies) there must be a local presence within the NT. Local presence is defined as being one or more of the following:
- Shop front, physical office or serviced office;
- Staff permanently resident in the NT; or
- Local staff.
The Intellectual Property of a product being submitted by an Organisation in a nomination should be owned by them or they should have the rights to use the IP. This is especially important in the Exporter award category.
All organisations should also be conscious of ensuring that “local content” is contained within the nominations submitted.
Organisations submitting the same content into different award categories must ensure that the nomination is tailored to that category and should not simply be a “cut and paste” of the same material.
An Organisation who is sponsoring an Award Category is eligible to enter that category and any others they wish to. This applies for both the sponsorship of the two Individual based Award Categories and the remaining three organisational or company based categories.
The NTICTA Committee and Judging Committee may set aside nominations that don’t meet the above rules of entry or satisfy the over-riding local (NT) content criteria.
