Award Categories
There are six (6) Award categories:-
Achiever Award : Recognises an individual, 30 years or older, who has made an outstanding contribution to the ICT Industry in the NT.
Exporter Award : Recognises the contribution of an organisation exporting at a national and international level.
Enabling Technology Award : Recognises excellence in a broad category of ICT solutions implemented within or for an organisation that resides in the NT.
Young ICT Professional Award : Recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual under the age of 30 to the ICT Industry. This category may include a student or an ICT Professional who has been working in the industry for a number of years. Their contribution could be through a significant project, service delivery excellence, or some personal contribution to the ICT industry.
ICT Project Excellence Award : Recognises the work of an NT organisation in the implementation of an ICT related project. The projects in this category are evaluated according to technology, governance, complexity and size.
Judge's Platinum Award : Recognises overall excellence and contribution to the ICT Industry. This award is selected from may be selected from the winners of the 5 previous categories.
Each category is judged according to a number of criteria appropriate to that category.

Many awards share the following criteria;
- Local NT content
- Benefits to the Community
- Benefits to users
- Innovation
- Effectiveness of solution
- User acceptance (from referees)
- Quality of customer service
Currently the Awards are only based in the Northern Territory, but the NT ICT Awards Committee is committed to ensuring winners have the opportunity to attend the National Information Technology Awards (the iAwards at www.iawards.com.au ).
The NTICT Awards may provide some financial support to the Platinum Award winner to attend the National AIIA "I" Awards held every year. ). In the past our Platinum Award winner has benefited greatly from attending the "I" Awards. The "I" Awards also provide an avenue into the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards (www.apicta2010.com ).
